Ely Thadeu Bravin Rangel, commonly known as Ely Thadeu (born 12 August 1982) is a Brazilian football forward playing with Capixaba.

He was born in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, Brazil. He started his career at Vasco da Gama being the attacking partner of Romario in 2001. In his career he also played for Olaria, Baraúnas, Serbian SuperLiga clubs Red Star Belgrade and FK Bežanija, having played with the last one in the UEFA Cup, and Democrata. In 2008 he was back to Brazilian top league by signing with Ipatinga however after playing in the opening match of the season he ended dismissed by the club.[1] During 2009 he played with Villa Nova Atlético Clube.
While playing with Democrata, in April 2010 he acused THC (cannabis) in a doping test and suspended,[2] however in 2011 he was back to competition.[3] In August 2011 he signed with lower league club Capixaba.[4]
He has represented Brazil at U-17 and U-20 level.[5]
